First we take Amsterdam, then we take Berlin!

Yes yes we know lovelies, it's been forever and you've all been sitting there holding your breath waiting for the exciting, stupendous, jaw-dropping finale to our UK/European tour!

Thank you so much for your patience. ;)

We wrapped up Amsterdam in true Kabuki Guns fashion - partying too hard and too late but without regrets because we're TOURING EUROPE!!!! Every venue, every event had been so unique and fabulous. We were thanking our lucky stars for the opportunities and wonderful experiences... but we knew that coming up... wrapping up the tour... would be something completely EPIC. A fairytale ending that only a bevvy of Burlesque Divas could dream up.

We arrived in Berlin via train and quickly found our way to our beautiful hostess Else's flat. We were practically humming with excitement as we prepared for an evening we knew we would remember the rest of our lives. Once we were 'Burlesquified' we made our way to a square close by to catch the charter double-decker busses scheduled to take us out to the venue. Intrigued yet?

Here's a little peek.... everyone on the bus was dressed to the nines in 20s and 30s themed outfits. Finger rolls, dark makeup, pearls and flapper dresses... even the men were decked out! A couple of pit-stops along the way and before we knew it our party bus was leaving the Berlin city-centre and making it's way to Potsdam!

The bus pulled up to a rural spot covered in grass and a narrow gravel path leading up ahead of us. As the passengers all disembarked they began to make their way up the hill, along the winding strip of pebbles to a spot just out of sight. Up and up we went, delicately dotting the landscape with our heels and giggling in anticipation. Suddenly we rounded a bend and found ourselves entering the property via a covered canopy of vines and twinkling white lights. The canopy turned slightly, just as the path had done, and as we came out the other side found ourselves standing on the grassy knoll leading into the entrance of....

A CASTLE.

Say what?

YES! A CASTLE!!!!! There were groups of revelers all around picnicking with self-packed baskets of delicious food and sparkling wine. Far to the left there seemed to be a croquet game in progress, the tinkle of laughter catching our ears from every direction. We made our way up the steps leading into the centre of the grounds (and the heart of the party!). As we walked through the arching entrance we saw in front of us the stage. Not just a stage. It was a gorgeous little man-made pond in the bailey. This is where the magic would happen, and the space was filled with party-goers and entertainers, absinthe bars, gambling tables... one of the arches leading from the left to right curtain had been turned into a red lantern-lit dance floor complete with DJ and cocktail tables.

The stage... ahhh, the stage! To the back centre of the pond was a wooden stage, the columns of the castle lit by orange-hued floodlights serving as a back-drop. Two runways on either side led from solid ground to the entertainment apex. Completely edging the stage were luminarias (votive cadles set in paper bags) and floating in the water were delicate tea lights and water-lillies. Our beautiful hostess Else greeted us and took us to our changing area and then instructed us to have fun! And boy did we have fun! We explored the grounds, climbed the stairs, walked the curtains and butresses...

And danced our hearts out. As twilight took over the candles glowed warmly. The crowd grew larger, cheeks flushed and smiles grew broader. Before we knew it we were being introduced by the charming, dashing (and tap-dancing!) emcee and found ourselves stepping on stage before an audience of hundreds. To be honest, the rush and glow of that kind of performance blurs the edges, the faces of the crowd. All we could see were flashing lights and the glow of eachother's smiles. In a blink of an eye the first number was over and all we heard as we sashayed off stage was thunderous applause and the roaring cheers of the audience.

Yes, once we got back stage we squeeled. And screamed. And jumped up and down a little. Ok, a lot! EPIC. The night was utter and absolute magic. The venue, the atmosphere was so heartbreakingly lovley, so authentic and moving... for many of us (if not all!) this was the highlight of our Burlesque career.

Eventually 3:30 AM rolled around and our bus was threatening to turn into a pumpkin. We made our way back through the winding path, the route lit by fire torches held in the hands of those leading the way. Many of us were exhausted beyond belief but glowing with the thrill of not just a momentous, memorable evening... but the entire tour. We realized this was the last performance of the tour and looking back at the last 10 days was overwhelming. It seemed ages ago that we left Calgary, eons since that first night in Manchester. But alas, all good things come to an end. In true fairy-tale fashion we left the castle behind, packed our things and returned to reality.

Once again, we can never thank any of you enough for supporting us. For coming out to our shows, for cheering loudly and often. For the smiles and the applause... it's you that made the tour possible and it's you we dance our hearts out for.

And with that, lovelies, the Kabuki Guns lived happily ever after...
